Studios | Writing for the Health of It

Saturday, October 18th 10:00-11:30 am Portraits of Hope Gallery

Writing is more than self-expression—it’s healing. Many of us who keep journals have long known the benefits, and now research confirms it: writing can improve your overall health and well-being. In this workshop, we’ll set aside perfection and simply put pen to paper, discovering together that everyone has a writer within.

Mary Laura Stagno brings a wealth of experience to this session. She currently facilitates a writing program at the Lovelady Center, where she helps women use writing as a tool for growth and renewal. Her four summers at the School of Letters, along with her MFA degrees, shaped her approach and prepared her to design the program in partnership with the creative writing department at UAB
