A car for Sammie Sales meant the opportunity to see her children, get to work and give back to the Lovelady Center. Sammie received a 2014 Jeep Patriot this past month through our partnership with First Fruits Ministries.
From visiting her children and getting to work each day, the impact of having reliable transportation is a game-changer for Sammie Sales and many of the women we serve.
“I haven’t had a car for over 2 years. Now, because of Portraits of Hope, I can see my children! Having a car helps me feel more normal!” Said Sammie. “I also drive many of the graduates to recovery meetings. Whatever the Lord asks me to do, I do it.”
Portraits of Hope partners with First Fruits Ministries and The Lovelady Center to provide reliable, refurbished used cars for the graduates. Portraits of Hope matches $1,500 for each woman, ensuring they own the car without additional debt. This milestone of receiving a car and having reliable transportation will significantly impact these women’s journeys toward independence.
